Temasek Club Canberra Day Trip 2026
What a wonderful Sunday! 47 members and friends gathered bright and early at Mercure Hotel Sydney for our Canberra day trip.
We boarded our coach and set off for Canberra, with a quick 20-minute toilet break along the way to stretch our legs. Some even managed a quick breakfast and coffee before we hopped back on the coach.
After another short comfort stop, we continued our journey and arrived at Parliament House. After our group photo, everyone had about 35 minutes to explore and take in this iconic Australian landmark.
Next stop — Star Buffet at the Burns Club! What a spread — seafood, Asian and Western favourites, sushi train, sashimi, hot dishes, cakes, fruits and ice cream. So many choices, it was hard to decide what to eat! Good food, great company and plenty of chatting and catching up.
At around 2.30pm, we boarded the coach again and headed to the main highlight of our trip — Floriade! And wow… the tulips this year were simply blooming beautifully! We had about 90 minutes to wander around, admire the colourful displays, take photos and soak up the spring atmosphere before regrouping.
Our final stop was Mount Ainslie, where we had a quick 15-minute stop to enjoy the panoramic views over Canberra and take a few more photos.
Then it was time to head back to Sydney. With a few comfort stops along the way, many were already happily tired and napped away on the coach.
A big thank you to our driver Johnson for getting us safely and smoothly through the long journey.
Most importantly, thank you to everyone who joined us and made the day so enjoyable. Along the way, we made new connections, caught up with old friends and shared lots of laughter and good moments. How wonderful it was to travel together as the Temasek Club family!
